Highly secured passports and visas require reliable and efficient border control solutions. At the same time, with the explosion of people movements beyond national territories, governments need to find a way to avoid long queues at airports and other heavily transited entry points.
Zetes’ eGate has been designed to allow automatic border control while also keeping these challenges in mind. Using eGate, a biometric check and comparison of the biometric data held in the RFID chip of each traveller’s e-passport or in a central database can be performed. In doing so, part of the workload created by transiting travellers can be absorbed, which in turn unburdens customs officers and accelerates the flow of people.
As well as connecting with the arrival country’s central database, the system can also interface with the Interpol database and national watchlists.
