Brussels, 14 June 2018 – Zetes announces the implementation of an access control system for RWD Molenbeek, based on the Panasonic WV-ASF950 facial recognition server software. When members register online for their season ticket, they will provide a photograph to gain easy access to the stadium on match days. The solution, which was presented at the RWDM press conference today (Thursday 14 June), will be operational when the new football season kicks off.
When RWDM season ticket holders arrive at their home stadium, the cameras installed there, combined with the Panasonic software, can capture and analyse their faces and compare them to their database. The database will contain images supplied by those who have ordered a season ticket on line via the ZetesFastrace platform. ZetesFastrace is the Zetes division specialising in the automated management and automatic identification of people in the events sector.
Season ticket holders will also receive a card produced by subsidiary ZetesCardS.
Thierry Dailly, Chairman of RWDM, says: "Facial recognition technology is a way for us to make sure that only authorised persons have access to the stands. The very high reliability of the recognition system combined with fast data processing has enabled us to install a system that is as unintrusive as possible for our members, and speeds up the checks at the entrance. We are very happy with the solution supplied by Zetes and we are delighted that it will be operational in September 2018. "
Alain Wirtz, CEO of Zetes, adds: "This project is an excellent example of how we can benefit from the innovative capabilities of the Panasonic Group, to which Zetes now belongs. The software on which the solution is based obtained the top scores in NIST's IJB-A Face Identification Challenge for 1:N search algorithms, which means that we use very advanced algorithms providing extremely high recognition rates, even in poor lighting conditions or when the face is partially hidden. This technology has many applications in the field of people ID, in which Zetes specialises, and we are thrilled about this first implementation in Belgium."
